Location: Luján de Cuyo – Mendoza, Argentina

Climate: The weather in the Uco Valley is favourable for the Mauricio Lorca vineyards that are located in an area of the valley that has very low hailstorm incidence. The average annual rainfall is 250 mm, which is ideal to avoid health problems in the vines. Another important factor in the climate of this area are the annual snowfalls, which help the strength and purity of the plants.

Winery: Bodega y Viñedos Mauricio Lorca’s innovative vineyard with 6,850 plants per hectare was designed to produce the best grapes for elaborate, highly concentrated, and complex wines. Winemaker Mauricio Lorca’s vision, enriched by his 12 years experience, embraces the idea of producing wine reflecting the characteristics of the area and honouring the combination of temperature ranges, water from the mountains, and the virtues of the soil unique to Mendoza. The winery is located in Luján de Cuyo, 25 km from the city of Mendoza. The winery has a tank capacity of 540,000 litres, distributed in small concrete tanks for high quality wine elaboration. Lorca also houses 500, 225 litre French oak barrels.

Vineyards: The vineyards are located in Vista Flores, department of Tunuyán, 100 km from the city of Mendoza, in an area called the Valle de Uco, 1,050 metres above sea level. They provide a very low yield, ranging between one or two bottles per plant. This provides a stronger concentration of aromas, colour and very soft tannins, producing wines with great varietal expression. The soil is permeable, sandy, and deep, without hard layers, and with stony areas.
