Macabeo/ Viura is a major white grape. Its main homeland is the northern Spain and the variety is one of the trio of grapes used in cava making along with Parrelada and Xarel-lo. In Rioja, where the variety goes by the name of Viura, the variety reveals its elegant floral and herbaceous characters in barrel-fermented and oak-aged wines.
Malvasía one of Spain’s most characterful white varieties and is grown in many regions. The variety often plays a supporting role in Rioja’s white blends.
