 Grape Variety100% Syrah

Tasting notes:  An attractive, dense and glittering ruby red with violet highlights. The intense and complex nose subtly combines black fruit and blackberry aromas mingled with discreet black pepper, mocha and vanilla notes. From a fresh and generous attack, the powerful and succulent midpalate harmoniously reveals the subtle balance between elegant tannins and aromatic black fruit, spice and coffee flavours. The long and elegant finish expresses all the class of Maipo Valley Syrah.

Region: Maipo Valley, Chile

Time of harvest:

Harvest Method: The grapes are hand-picked then brought to the bodega. They are hand-sorted several times then destemmed and lightly crushed before vinification.

Winemaking: 2014 may be reckoned a very good vintage in Chile, due to low rainfall and ideal temperatures for the vine growth cycle. These factors enabled the grapes to reach full maturity, producing wines which tend towards a rather Mediterranean style. Powerful and with excellent concentration, they also preserve a "fresh fruit" character and freshness sometimes difficult to achieve in New World wines. Of generally even quality, the different grape varieties perfectly reveal the identity of Chile's terroirs.
